1. Hoi isabelle, kun je ons iets vertellen over hoe deze 2 foto’s tot stand zijn gekomen?
I’m currently busy with a new body of work that explores the human body within a figural moment, so that it appears like a still life an object or as a sculpture. Both images are part of this new series. With a simple method I transform the human body into something else.
In both cases I’m the model and the photographer at the same time. I was wearing a blouse, skirt, tights and shoes I picked from my stock, pressed the self-release on my camera, ran into position and hold a posture till it clicks. For Backward_1_W_2013 it took me 102 tryouts to get to my final image. Sometimes I get muscle ache from doing the same movement over and over again.
Forward_1_A_2013 was done doing a session for Riveted TV. My only prop was a flowery pant skirt that helped me to transform into a very nice surreal form.

3. Wat maakt deelname aan de We Like Art show @ Art Rotterdam aantrekkelijk voor jou als kunstenaar?
I think it’s a great opportunity to show what I do. Specially ‘cause it reaches such a broad audience and then I certainly enjoy being presented together with so many good artists.
4. Denk je dat je zelf hebberig gaat worden van een kunstwerk van een collega-kunstenaar uit deze tentoonstelling?

It depends, I can’t say yet. But if you fall in love with something, what shall you do, you have to go for it! So let’s see.
